The village of Chiflik is a unique resort complex. The

edelweiss.
The valley of the Beli Osam River, which includes the
valleys of its adjoining tributaries – the Rogacheva,
Koziashtnitsa, Gabrovshtitsa rivers etc., has plunged
into verdancy – not an acre of waste land – the whole
area is covered with beech-tree, coniferous, yoke-elm
tree and hazelbush woods and the ridges and elevations
of the Troyanska Mountain are overgrown with fresh green
grass. The strawberries, plums and potatoes are the most
popular agricultural products grown in the village of
Chiflik.

the Rajdavets River – a left tributary of the Beli Osam
river, within the boundaries of National Park “Central
Balkan”.
The village of Shipkovo received its name from the first
settlers because as the legends claim it was completely
surrounded by dog roses. Today’s village of Shipkovo
exists since 1630. It is located at 680 m above sea
level and the “Shipkovski mineral baths” resort is at
700 m above sea level and spreads over an area of 45000
decares.

The village of Glojene is situated northwest from the
town of Teteven, at the foot of the mountain peak of
Kamen Lisets, along the Cherni Vit River.
One of the legends tells that in 13 th century the Kiev
prince Gloj arrived in Bulgaria running away from the
tatars. He received from Ivan Assen the Second an
estate, situated at the foot of Stara planina Mountain,
by the Cherni Vit River.
The site where he settled with his detachment was named
after him.
The village of Ribaritsa has about 1 400 inhabitants and
is the most picturesque village among the whole 13 in
the Teteven region (12km from Teteven town). The village
is located at 600 meters above the sea level at the foot
of the Teteven Balkan. It is no accident that the name
of the village is Ribaritsa - it is settled 12 km. to
the Beli Vit river banks and its feeders, and there is a
monument of the “River boy” at the beginning of the
village – the symbol of the village.
The charm of the Ribaritsa village are the numerous
little country houses and villas. They are lost in
greenness and flowers, offering not only tranquillity
and calmness, but and the opportunity to feel the unique
authentic atmosphere and coziness of the Bulgarian
village. Here in Ribaritsa the traditions are still
alive. Old water - mills are still working, the fulling
- mills are still washing the colorful carpets, the
famous Ribaritsa rakia (brandy) is prepared right before
you in a copper, housewives prepare the unforgettably
sweet jams of wild berries and the old farmers are still
making the well-known Balkan brine cheese prepared both
from sheep and goat milk. You will wander how beauty one
can find in the thing made from wool and wood - all
these made by the light-handed craftsmen.
The biggest attraction in the village of Ribaritsa is
the wild nature of the National Park Central Balkan and
one of its nine green pearls – the biosphere reserve of
Tsarichina. There is a legend about the name of the
reserve, according to which the king’s daughter Tamara
was cured by the magic of the “red harefoot”, which the
local people still called “tsarichina”.
The village of Lesidren is settled in the north slopes
of the Vasiliovska mountain, which is part of the Middle
Stara planina mountain. The village is located to the
northeast of Teteven and to the northwest of Shipkovo
mineral baths. The nearest towns are Lovech, Troyan and
Ugarchin. Here is the most beautiful nature in the
region. The peaks of Vasiliov (1495 m.), Stargon (1425
m.) and Koinets (1155 m.) stick surrounded by the
magnificent forests. Settled at 420 meters above the sea
level, in the beautiful Balkan gorge, the land belonging
to the Lesidren has different rock structure: red sand
and black rock coals. The magnificent nature, the fresh
air and the modern rest houses can make the visitor’s
recreation of full value. The carst relief is suitable
for mountaineering. The winter here is mild and the
summer is breezy. At the distance of 4 km. is located
the “Sopot” dam.
